What the five numbers are

What a typical home is worth. Zillow's value for homes in the middle of the 91910 market (the 35th to 65th percentile), counting houses and condos, smoothed out over the seasons.
Listings that lowered their price. Out of everything listed during the month, the part that finished the month asking less than at the start.
Homes on the market. Each home that was listed for sale at some point in the month, counted one time.
Heat index. A Zillow number that weighs homes for sale against shopper interest. Higher numbers lean toward sellers.
Sale price vs. last asking price. On average, how close final sale prices came to the last asking price, each week, for the whole San Diego metro. Zillow does not make this one by ZIP.

The four ZIP numbers are monthly. The sale price figure is weekly for the metro, the only way Zillow offers it.
